Excellent food and excellent service. We had the large portion of brisket (absolutely delicious and our favorite), the small portion of ribs (good but not great (I thought the sauce was just okay. Though in all fairness my friend liked these second best.), the small portion of duck (delicious. My second favorite) , and the sweet potato fries. We finished off the meal with a Sticky Toffee Pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream (WOW !!!).
The server said they recommend two small items per person. We had one large, two small and a side. It was actually too much. I would recommend three smalls or one large and one small for two people.
I would highly recommend eating at Art Bar Funkel.
Very interesting, contemporary menu and good quality food served here. The beef brisket in red wine jus was exceptional. Staff were very friendly also. However, 2 members of my group waited 30-45 minutes to be served their dishes and, by the time that they were, everybody else had finished their meals. This definitely dampened the general mood of our visit but would consider returning here in the future in order to explore more of this exciting menu
Delicious and reasonably priced food.
Warm friendly service.
Spotlessly clean toilets.
Relaxing atmosphere.
The homemade Honeymoon Cheesecake was probably the nicest dessert I ever had.
A gem in Newry.
Great food, reasonable prices and fast service. The staff were polite and friendly too. Definitely worth a visit. After visiting here again recently my review hasn’t changed. We had the trio of bruschetta, prawn pil pil, beef brisket and haddock gougons. We couldn’t fault the food at all, everything was very tasty and well presented, service was excellent too. The only slight problem was that our booking hadn’t been written down however we only had to wait a few minutes before a table became available. On every visit here I have never been let down by the food or service however I do find the restaurant quite loud and noisy due to the small floorspace and how busy it is at weekends. It’s a restaurant that’s crying out for more space and tables but don’t let that put you off, it’s well worth a visit and it’s not expensive.
Really loved this restaurant and went twice in the week we had in Newry. It’s not a cheap diner but neither is it very expensive. The food is delicious and the service warm and friendly.
