Bastard Barista

1. Trying to find a decent coffee whilst in Edinburgh, from a non-chain, and made our way here. It’s tucked away from the main stretch but was beautifully set up and pleasantly busy. The friendly team welcomed us and we had a couple of delicious flat whites and a blueberry muffin. Would go out of our way to visit next time we’re in Edinburgh.

2. Very good coffee, average carrot cake. Bit outside the main shopping area but worth the effort. Nice atmosphere great service. Not accessible for wheelchair users although there are tables and chairs on the path outside. Recommended

3. I went back in April but just got around to reviewing – this spot was absolutely lovely. Gorgeous interior, cozy, and fantastic coffee. The baristas seemed very passionate about their craft and if you’re an American searching for that coveted cold brew abroad, you’re in luck!

4. Very good coffee. Beautiful interior. This coffee house is located in the basement level which gives a very good feeling of warmth and coziness.

5. Ordered an extra hot cappuccino with cinnamon. Short haired lady behind the counter was pleasant enough and took the order. The wee Asian girl who may have been a trainee made the coffee and kept it on the table with a serious face and a “here’s your extra hot cappuccino” like I had asked her to submit homework in 1989. It tasted like hot milk flavored with some coffee. I don’t even know what herbs the milk was on or if was in transition. Two sips of this liquid and I was out as fast as my legs could take me.
