So glad they were able to fit us in in-between bookings.
Food was so fresh and full of flavour. Portion sizes were perfect, with sufficient fillings.
Everyone loved the food and plates were left empty.
Staff were friendly and apologetic that the table.was only.free for so long (it was more than enough time to enjoy our meals without rushing).
What an absolute gem! We ate here on a Saturday evening. The place was busy, but they managed to fit 4 of us in. A really good vibe in the restaurant, with the staff all friendly and attentive.
Starters arrived – and all were very tasty. The mains turned up shortly after we finished our starters.
We were really pleased with the food choices we made (highly recommended the steak)
All in all – a really vibrant, great place to eat – enough off the main street so as not to be too busy. Give this gem of a restaurant a visit if you are in the area!!
Absolutely awesome food and delicious Margheritas. Fish taco was delicious. Will definitely be back. They accept walk-ins but you’re better off booking
Yummy yummy yummy food in your tummy! It really was very good food and friendly staff, entertainment juggling onions and great conversation about 60s music brought up to date about festivals today. Jasper was our host so we well recommend his restaurant which has only been going for one year but already expanded next door! Helen and Phill
Batanga is THE hidden gem restaurant of York, and it is well worth a visit! In general, the food and drink is spot-on, big beers and delicious food, brilliant Mexican themed décor, with a great little charming cat mascot, perfect value for money, and the staff are the best type of people, warm and welcoming! I’m blown away by how good this restaurant is. It’s a week later, and it makes me sad that I’m 160 miles away from the best beef quesadillas I’ve ever eaten. Even then, its worth the trip to York even if its just for these Quesadillas. I will return. For the Quesadillas.
