  1. Had one of my parents out a run and Friday and we decided to give this place a try. Glad we did. Got a table by the window which enabled us to enjoy the best view of the beach and sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a couple of different menus to choose from, there was a choice of a starter and main for £20, with a £5 supplement for the ribeye, which I thought was great value for money. There was also another main menu, my dad was tempted by the chowder on it but ended up getting the £20 deal. We both went for the spicy soup as a starter, had a nice wee kick to it and was just the job for a wet day, for main I got the ribeye and he got the chicken smash. There wasn’t anything left on our plates which tells it’s own story. We only got 1 dessert between us, it was the apple and cinnamon crumble, it took a while to arrive, but that’s not a complaint, as the hold up was due to the fact that it had to be baked. Again delicious. Another massive plus for me was the massive smoking area located the entire length of the side of the building overlooking the sea, with a proper roof. No tin hut or bus stop type structure. Would recommend the place to anyone.

  2. We holiday at castlerock and always look forward to our nights in Bertha’s. Great wee bar with pool table, music at weekends and absolutely great atmosphere everyday of the week. Only a short walk from caravan park too.
We have ate here quite a few time and always been great pub grub. We recently ate here with our two daughters 5 and 8 and the service and food was first class. Kids loved it too. Great place to eat for families after a day at the beach or anytime.

  3. Went to this bar for a couple of drinks & food. The staff were lovely & helpful (even when we hadn’t booked a table, they were still really accommodating) . There was a woman who assisted us in the smoking area and continued to check up on us. It was a wholesome and wonderful experience! Will definitely return!

  4. Huge disappointment with the quality of the service and dirty glasses and utensils. You could even see lipstick stains on multiple glasses we were given, absolutely unacceptable. The service at the bar was chaotic and took a long time. Food was a bit overpriced for what it was, but as alright overall. No music in the beer garden – that would be a nice addition!
