Very disappointed with our experience at Bill’s Cambridge. The English breakfast arrived cold and was nearly inedible—eggs were lukewarm, and the bacon was tough and rubbery. On top of that, we were kept waiting an inordinately long time for donuts, which only added to the frustration. The service felt corporate and mechanical, lacking any warmth or personal touch. For a place that usually has a great reputation, this visit fell far below expectations. A little more attentiveness and care would go a long way. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this location based on this experience.
I had a lovely experience at Bill’s Restaurant! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and they had fantastic options for the kids too. The Full English breakfast was hearty and satisfying—although I wouldn’t have minded an extra sausage and bacon for good measure. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing meal with family. Looking forward to visiting again!
Thought I’d treat my boys to breakfast yesterday. Food was good, just expensive but hey, it’s a treat. The lady who took payment at the end, seemed to not have the Friday feeling unfortunately, couldn’t muster a smile. Otherwise the other staff were lovely and welcoming. Apple / orange juice was something like £3.95 a glass which was insane. Coffee was probably one of the nicest coffees I’ve had in a long time, and I would come back for that alone.
I come here every now and then but unfortunately I think it’s slowly gotten a little worse each time.
This time round I felt cheated of what I bought. I have added some photos to describe this. I ordered the “big” brunch. They were generous with the mushrooms, potatoes and tomato but everything else felt scarce (probably to lower costs). The baked beans were incredibly small in portion. I also ordered “smashed avocado” which was neither smashed nor entirely avocado. As seen in the photo it was chunks of avocado mixed with leaves which I felt was to hide the lack of avocado.
For £16-17 I was left still pretty hungry.
Also happy to tip for the service but 12.5% is pretty high for a single person table at 11am. Also don’t take cash anymore which is pretty frustrating.
At the end of the day… I would’ve happily paid more if it meant I actually felt like I got what I should’ve (a “big” brunch).
Unfortunately won’t be returning anymore.
Great food, ambience and service! Didn’t have to wait long to be seated. Food was quite delicious, had the Chargrilled chicken and calamari.
