Large brewery tap in the Baltic triangle. Serving loads of ale including their own. Plentiful seating inside and out. Serves food. Not open that late ( according to google) so don’t leave it too long before going. Interesting setting and a nice bevvy. Recommended. 🍻 🍷
The pub is nice, but avoid all of the ticketed events.
We paid £30 for 2 tickets to the burger event a couple of months ago, arrived about an hour after the start, to find:
– No free drinks with our tickets. We had to pay £10 for 10 tokens, when every burger was 11 tokens, and most beers were 6, which is really annoying when you can only buy in multiples of 10. No smaller portions, just burgers for £11. No one was on the door checking tickets, so other people just walked in for free. We got a little glass, but I’m not sure where the rest of the £15 went.
– Cocktail bar was closed and looked like it was never open
– The toilets are really bad. They’re dirty and are never cleaned over the course of an event.
– Events run 7pm – 10pm, but all food closes promptly at 9pm.
– A ‘battle of the burgers’ requires more than 2 stalls. Especially when one of them is Byron.
– 1 staff member rushing off their feet, serving 30 people. When I ordered a pint on the bar, I was told it was 6 tokens, when the tap itself said 4. This caused a bit of an argument, but eventually she ‘negotiated’ to 5.
When I emailed Black Lodge about this I got a bit of a snippy email, without any acknowledgement of any wrong doing or points of learning.
There’s a lot of good competition nearby, and if they improve in the future I’ll gladly change my star rating, but right now they are a firm 1.
We visited the Black Lodge Brewing tap room in Liverpool and I have to say, it was an amazing experience. The burgers were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. And the beer! Oh my, the beer was fantastic. It was some of the best craft beer I’ve ever had. The atmosphere of the tap room was also great, with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and beer in Liverpool. 5 stars all around!
A ten minute stroll from Liverpool bus station this former factory warehouse is worth hunting out. On site burger van when I visited. There is lots of outside seating and an indoor bar area which was ideal at the time of my visit as it was pouring down outside. If you are going to be rained in for the evening there are worse places than a fantastic craft brewery. Only downside is the loos are in an outhouse.
Big selection of beers and decent food. Great place to visit during sunny days due to a lot of seats outside. The place is quite hidden and not overcrowded.
