Blockhouse at The Sheet Anchor

1. Nothing fundamentally wrong with this place… but having been to many of the other restaurants in the group we were expecting a little bit more from the atmosphere. Staff were fine… except for trying to clear our plates serval times before we had finished. We weren’t a late booking, but it felt like they wanted to clear the section. They were very attentive about food allergies (I’m coeliac), but to the point it made me feel a little uncomfortable. “Are you the one with the allergy?” Even when ordering a coffee because it came with a biscuit in a packet.

   The food was nice, just rather overpriced for what it is. A lot of burgers, not so much grill and the rib eye was £35, which I wouldn’t mind if it felt like we had more of a dining experience, but it didn’t feel “special” and I I’ve had comparable steaks for less than half the price without feeling quite so awkward for having an allergy.

2. Lovely barbecue grill place in a pleasant location. The interior is wonderfully decorated with a cozy fireplace and great themed props (though the knife wall is a little bit intimidating (but cool though don’t get rid)) the food is well made and a delight to eat. Would definitely recommend for the food and for the scenery

3. We loved it here. We come alot love the burgers they are amazing and the food. Stephan who served us was really nice to us and offered us drinks and was very quick. People should come here it lovely 🤩

   Entrance to leaving the service was amazing, the food was some of the best I have eaten out in a long time. Everything was clean and the cocktails were lovely. Honestly 10/10 would come back and recommend.

5. Visited the Blockhouse for the first time last weekend and was blown away. The atmosphere is lovely and social. It is quite noisy but in a good way, creates a bustling atmosphere during the type of venue. Worth considering if you are looking for a very quiet place as this may not suit. The background music (not loud or overbearing) was fantastic, great soundtrack! Everyone was welcoming and attentive but oh my gosh the food!! It was devine! Had Mac n cheese, beefy dirty fries and gravy. It was so tasty. We saw a few people with burgers and sharing platters and they looked just as good. Will be a tough choice next time we go. Overall great place, 5* food and would recommend
