Blue Bottle Coffee

1. I had macchiato in my two consecutive visits, which turned out disappointing. The espresso itself was not that bad but my macchiatos had no trace of latte art, with subpar milk foam, and the mug looked dirty on both occasions. I guess the baristas didn’t put much effort on my drinks even though the coffee shop was not busy during my visits. These days, there are tons of better coffee shops out there with much lower price tags.

2. I’ve never seen a blue bottle with not so much people. Sit in and have a nice NOLA which doesn’t appear at California’s blue bottle menu. Chives scone was great but should be heated. Service was a little bit… felt like the staff wasn’t really care about you and not very politely. Overall, foods were great but poor service.

3. I like Blue bottle for reading/studying purposes. It has a chill and modern atmosphere, there is free Wifi, it’s close to MIT and the coffee quality is good. One aspect that is bothering me however, is how every time I ask for a mug or glass (reusable container), I still get my coffee served in a paper cup. Not only does the paper cup ruin the taste of the coffee, but more importantly, we are creating more trash that ends up in our environment. For sustainability this is really unfortunate, especially in a city that tries to be more environmentally friendly. And that at a significantly higher than average price (6-7$ for a cup of coffee, not including tips!!)

   They do offer cup and saucer, in addition to take out paper cups
   Their lattes are standard 12 ounce size.
   Their cappuccino which they refer to as also being a flat white is about six or 7 ounces.
   Since I like to taste the coffee, I got a cappuccino with whole milk.
   Espresso and milk foam were great.
   It is a lighter roast.
   They have a nice indoor seating and a few seats outside next to the shop.
