Such a cool place, amazing music and vibes and delicious food! Even two non-vegans we were with said it was one of the best meals they have had in a while! Highlight was definitely the fried banana mochi balls dessert which blew our minds. Other stand-out dishes were the mushroom skewers and kale
I came here with some family while visiting Brighton I’m vegetarian and have lactose intolerance so it is great to know I can order anything off the menu. The lunch menu allowed people to choose 3 dishes which you indicated by writing on the menu which items you want (I have attached a photo of it) each dish has a few options of the style you want. Having them three was the perfect size my favourite was the sweet potato skewers and dirty rice which had a lot of flavour.
I came here for lunch recently and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of small dishes (like Asian tapas), which is my favourite because I love trying a bit of everything! I was suggested to have 3-4 dishes for one person, I chose 3 and glad I did because it was plenty! I ended up taking half home for leftovers.
I probably wouldn’t come here alone again, as I think the dishes are more designed to be shared and it was pretty fancy inside. But I’ll definitely be bringing friends here when they visit!
Only downside is that it took a while for anyone to notice that I had finished my meal and was ready to go home. I had been reading for at least 10 minutes without touching my food before I had to catch someone’s eye to get a doggy bag and the bill.
But overall it was a fantastic lunch (and dinner at home).
Amazing small plate east Asian food, all plant based, and very reasonably priced.
Miso maple and wasabi aubergine was 10/10. Fantastic desserts.
The staff were really great.
As a vegan who used to quite like seafood I’ve come to accept that I’ll never have a vegan dish that quite replicates that flavour and texture. That was until I had the ‘sea bream’ at bonsai plant kitchen. I’ve had really good tofish before but this is on another level entirely. Honestly everything we ate tonight was phenomenal (‘pork’ spring rolls were also divine), and whoever composed this menu is a genius wizard. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!
