2nd visit – this time with our dog in tow. Our 1st experience without dog was fab too. Had the scrambled egg with chilli last time and this time without – absolutely delicious and just how I make it! Scrambled egg is creamy and a lovely fresh orange colour. We also had cream cheese on sour bread; smooth tasty lattes and with a fab rhubarb cold drink. The baristas are always so friendly and welcoming. A great place to chill.
Orders come super slow. There is a line but waiting 40 min for a coffee is ridiculous :
Great coffee spot inside the hyatt Hotel. Allpress coffee is always a win. The barosfas take their time and make sure every cup tastes great and is poured to perfect
The menu says toast “with butter” and even though I confirmed with the server that it really is butter, the toast came with margarine (this has already happened twice before).
Also there is normally only 1 person at the counter so if there is a massive coffee order (as there was last time I was there) it will take absolutely ages to get your food.
There are quite a few seats, but a lot are on long tables and normally there are people working with laptops at either end, so you will likely not have a table to yourself.
Having said all that, the food is lovely.
Tried their scrambled eggs on toast, solo on a Saturday morning. It didn’t take long for me to realise I was quite lucky with seats as the place quickly went from half full to being completely filled!
The dish arrived well presented. But the flavours from the first bite just didn’t match what was on the plate at all. There didn’t seem to be any issues with the eggs (in fact visually it seemed very well cooked), so why hide the taste with (heavy) artificial seasoning? Perhaps a bit more confidence in your cooking, replace the fake taste with a tiny bit of salt and maybe a little sprinkle of black pepper? That’d have made it perfect.
Despite what parts of the Internet like to tell you, I am one of many allergic to MSG. Thanks for a whole day of headaches.
Service was okay.
