A restaurant is only as good as its staff, and Julie made the experience special. Quick friendly greeting, spot-on recommendations and simply excellent service. Thank you again, Julie.
The spicy cauliflower app, stuffed baked shrimp and short rib were all excellent (portions are a bit big to finish, and we tried). Overall a relaxed and pleasant dinner (I now have to apologize to my wife for lingering a bit too long on the massive display of golf and other locally historical memorabilia). Definitely worth a stop when in Newport.
We come here for our regular date nights. The chicken nacho plate is delicious, we bring leftovers home. It’s huge. I love the Cajun chicken sandwich, I’ve gotten the burger before that’s always good. My husband loves the chicken tenders basket. Great environment. Make sure to make reservations. If the waitresses are overwhelmed you’ll notice the service isn’t that great. Otherwise great place to go to in Newport & great prices!
My salmon was very delicious, however I was disappointed in the fact that I was provided with such small portions. It was just the fish and a tiny saucer of mashed potatoes all for $26 whereas if I purchased such a dish at another establishment I would have been provided with more. The fish and chips were decent nothing to rave home about. Calamari was and sauce was good. Waitress was nice.
Great pub and restaurant in Newport. Popular and busy with good service. Quirky decor and a salad bar.
We had a lobster reuben which was delicious! And also a baked sole dish which was very good. Huge drinks selection too with good cocktails.
This place was so much fun; you could spend a day just wandering around and staring at everything on the walls of the restaurant.
The food was great too. The fish/cod sandwich — easily the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I only got a bite of my friends, but the bun is fresh and the fish is moist and tastes like it was caught that morning. Their tartar sauce was on point.
My Sole Vanderbilt was tasty, but I definitely had some food envy of my companions who were wowing over their fish & chips and fish sandwiches. Sometimes the simpler option is the better one.
