Stopped here for afternoon tea with my dad. Had reservations. Staff was super friendly and even got us in early. The mint tea was amazing and the food with afternoon tea was perfection. The smoked salmon sandwiches were my favorite and the raspberry and lime jam is stupendous!
This place should have been a shoe-in for a five star review. Great location on the beach and owned by a renowned chef. The day was beautiful too. Service was friendly but the food was really disappointing. We started with prawns with Bloody Mary ketchup – which could have done with having their dirt track removed but weren’t bad. The fried mussels were really tasty and warm but weirdly, served on crushed ice – which kept getting into the open shell. The real issue was with the fish pie. It looked beautiful when it arrived but had no flavour. I mean, plenty of fish and a lovely potato mash top but no taste. Also no seasoning. I would typically be looking forward to some mustard or even cheese sauce background flavour, but nothing! If someone told me the kitchen had forgotten to add 3-4 ingredients and salt and pepper, that would have explained things. So, I made the cardinal sin of eating it anyway because I was hungry and it wasn’t bad. Also, it took 30 mins to make and I didn’t want the hassle of sending it back without knowing it could be improved. We skipped dessert and bailed out. Big shame. I think Bryn Williams needs to do some spot checks on the food that’s going out in his name.
Beautiful view of the seafront, the decor of the restaurant is lovely. Staff was kind. The coffee was really good, although the food was average, decent full breakfast, good portion!
A restaurant in the Michelin guide with a beautiful seafront view. Fish pie was delicious and food overall good, but menu a little bit limited in that there was only one vegetarian option. The highlight really was the desserts, so unique and flavourful, wish we could’ve tried all of them if we weren’t so full!
I cannot express enough how fantastic this place is. The food was incredible and some of the best fish we’ve ever had, and the service we had from Simon (very sorry if we didn’t spell your name correctly!) was utterly impeccable and felt like we were dining in the finest restaurant in London. If you’re in North Wales, you NEED to visit here!
