  1. We had breakfast at this beautiful cafe. We were greeted by a friendly staff once we
walked in. The atmosphere is intimate, peaceful and cosy.
We had full English breakfast and haleem with traditional Persian Naan with coffee. Everything was served beautifully and everything tasted incredible.
We will come back with kids now.

  2. We went out for a lovely walk at the Edgbaston Reservoir with my family. We were looking for somewhere nice for a coffee and snacks. Found this place on Google map and was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. The coffee was amazing and the food was so tasty and beautifully crafted. The portions were big. We ordered 2 main portions between 3 of us and we were so full! I will highly recommend this place.

  3. AVOID this place!
Very expensive and poorly manged! We ordered a breakfast for two which was £19:95 and as you can see from the photo it was 3 plain fried eggs!!! And a bit of sides! I am not sure how they worked it out to have 3 eggs in a breakfast for two, but it genuinely was a rip off. Also, the Turkish Menemen was nothing even close to the original Turkish recipe and it was more tomato pure with egg! They could have called this something different, but this was NOT Turkish Menemen. I did raise the issue with the waiter as soon as the food came, especially on the portion and quality off the breakfast for two, he did apologise and said he would pass it to the manager, however when the manager came, and he was told about our complaint, he couldn’t care less and was not even bothered to come forward to explain or listen to the feedback. Very unprofessional and arrogant!
It was embarrassing as I had taken my non-Iranian friends there to show them a bit of our food and hospitality culture but what we had was a disgrace! Unfortunately, these type of people like the manager has no morality to respect and understand what they are representing if they call their business related to a culture. They only think about their benefit.
I had tow share my food with them as the breakfast for two was definitely not for two people even if they don’t eat much and the quality of the food was disappointing!
I would not recommend the place, and I hope this feedback gives you a heads up of what you are going to face there.

  4. Wow! What a gem on the Hagley Road!

My partner and I had a late breakfast here on a Saturday, and what a joy it was.

My partner ordered the Saganaki omelette and I ordered the Feta omelette. We also got two black americanos.
The food arrived quickly, and was sublime. Both omelettes came with a lime wedge, a pickled pepper, raw onion, fresh mint, fresh basil and fresh flat leaf parsley. I greatly appreciated the herbs as I love them all, and I personally seasoned my omelette liberally with them. The omelettes also came with sesame flatbread, which we used to mop our plates clean!

The coffees were great as well, with my only very minor note being that it would have been nice to have them in a glass with a handle, as they were too hot to handle for about 10 minutes.

There is a single loo, which is accessible and well-maintained. Bonus points for a lovely sink basin.

I’m including photos of the menu, which we were told has been recently updated. I think the prices are very reasonable for such good quality food.

The cafe is decorated very nicely, and my only note about the general ambience was that the music was a very slight bit too loud for my taste. The staff were friendly and helpful, and created a friendly atmosphere.

We will be back soon for a lunch and / or dinner – thank you Cafe Rumi!
