I had a rather unfortunate conversation with a chap behind the counter who was not very patient or understanding when I asked to have my coffee without a lid in order to reduce my usage of single use plastic as I got caught short without my normal reusable cup.
He told be it was cafe Nero policy that they must put the lids, no exceptions despite me explaining why I would prefer not to have one. He confirmed this is a policy of cafe Nero nationally.
Not only does this seem bad for the environment, but I would also imagine some people with disabilities could struggle to drink with the lid in place.
The man who currently works in this branch, unfortunately, is not good at dealing and his manner is not good. Even his dealings with his colleague are considered not good based on what I saw. It is as if the girl is his slave and not an employee like him. Also, when I ask him for a tissue, He’s supposed to say, “Go ahead,” or be there , outside is with sugar like all other cafes, but unfortunately there is none. I love Café Nero very much and I spend today only about 60 pounds , but really, I don’t like bad treatment. I hope that these observations will be taken into consideration by decision-makers
The man who works here is rude and moody. He gives people in the line moody looks. He also coughed in my drink before he gave me it, and was coughing a LOT while making them, without covering his mouth. I find this extremely unsanitary and quite disgusting!! Not only that but it takes forever since there’s only one person working. I wouldn’t recommend. Bad experience, horrible customer service, and honestly left me feeling quite unwell. didn’t know what to do with coughed in drink apart from bin it and the guy gives off BAD vibes.
Edit: Apparently his name is Tony. 😁 Thanks for coughing your lungs up in my coffee Tony 🙄🙄
The guy doesn’t treat well to the costumers.
I hope he learns a way to deal with it.
No hate for cafe Nero.
Great experience ! The barista Sophie was especially lovely
