I support and have been to clover many times, now finally getting around to a review. This place is great for lunch and a quick dinner option. On this visit, I ordered one of the newer items- Verde bowl with spicy tender pork. I’ve never had fake pork before and I quite I liked it. The bowl itself was well thought out and balanced, very flavorful with a good mix of textures. I might hesitate to order again tho as it has fried plantains/tostones and fried jalapenos which I could get without, but then it seems to become an even smaller portion than it was. I feels it a bit expensive for what it is, but most things in this area are. Also they care about their where they get their ingredients, so I don’t mind paying for that. The sides are great including the hummus, fries etc. I’ve had several other sandwiches including the meatball sub and falafel. Overall my only issue is they use more oil in their ingredients (eg fried or oily) than my tummy is used to. Tasty though, and would be fine for those with less sensitive stomachs. I will continue to support this trailblazing vegetarian/ vegan establishment who sources locally, and hope to see more thoughtful places like it in the immediate future.
Being lived in Israel I have a good taste bud in Mediterranean food.
The service was excellent, the food was quick very clean and artistic dining environment.
The hummus was very authentic. A good balance of oil and sour test. The veggies are fresh but the falafel balls were over cooked in my plate. I’m pretty sure that is not the case always. I will visit again. Thank you.
I love Clover. They are one of my favorite eateries in the greater Boston area. Their food is unique, creative, and inspired. It’s all vegetarian, and it is refreshing and fun to have such an extensive array of tasty vegetarian options. A number of standard dishes are complemented with a rotating roster of inventive and delicious dishes, often offered for only a short time, making them extra special, with items whose return I look forward to each year. Why the sometimes brief windows of availability of these special creations? It’s because they use seasonal produce at its peak, and source most of their ingredients from local farms. I highly recommend the Panelle sandwich and/or platter, which I missed for the past 2 years and finally got to experience this August. It was worth the wait! A friend from the West Coast loves to visit each time she visits Boston. They have several locations including one open 24-7. For unique, delicious, innovative food that is environmentally responsible and supports local farmers, they can’t be beat. Clover is innovative and fun, a roots-driven company with real personality and flair. They have an engaging company culture and a playful, joyful personality that comes through in their blog and their personable emails. Staff are friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Go discover, eat and enjoy!
Food has potential. There’s always something off. Got rosemary fries, there was no rosemary. Got a chickpea fritter, wasn’t all the ingredients in every bite, ( this is a big thing I used to work here). Love the food when it’s done right but theres always something to be desired. This location has a beer Clover has brewed which is awesome, highly recommend. Favorite sandwiches are mayor menino BLT, egg and eggplant, chickpea fritter, Bridgewater sandwich, the mushroom Parm, and the Baja mushroom. Sodas are good too and coffee
Groovy spot, vegan friendly. Samples were nice, ambience nice. One in our party said “My sandwich was among the best vegan sandwiches I’ve ever had. Amazingly like pork BBQ but plant based.”
