Stunning location to enjoy the scenery of the bay, good cake, and lovely coffee.
The large windows offer a 360 view of pier and surrounding areas, which makes for a pleasant view as you eat some delicious locally baked cakes, and sip on well made coffee.
Definitely worth a visit if your looking for somewhere to rest whilst at Cardiff Docks.
Absolutely amazing service, staff were super friendly and gave us a slice of cake on the house for my mother’s birthday! Coffee was outstanding too with amazing views of the harbour!! Amazing options for dairy free customers too!! Will definitely be returning 🤩
Nice location with a lot of foot traffic. Coffee was alright but nothing special, nicely presented. Using the app was easy enough but the prices were a little exorbitant. Service was perfect.
The food was frankly some of the most bland I have tried in a while. When I’m paying £18 for a coffee, pasty and chips they better be good. The steak and ale pasty was bland and mushy, could’ve been microwaved (if you’re going to microwave pies you need to pre-make some shortcrust lids and give them a flash under the grill while you microwave your steak and gravy in a ramikin. Microwaved pastry is gross, don’t do it). Wanted a lot more pepper and some herbs, making an actual gravy. If they don’t make it from scratch it shouldn’t be on the menu, let alone a tenner.
Chips should only be £1-2 extra and there should be way less, no option to order less than a sharing size. They were overcooked and rock solid and by the time I was a quarter in they were stone cold. The salad was nice but there wasn’t much and the leaves were a bit wilted.
I would add that I had been on a cycle trip up and over mountains carrying an extra 15kg of luggage, and hadn’t eaten a square meal in over 24 hours, and even I couldn’t stomach the whole thing. Wish I’d gone to the Spoons next door instead.
Lovely spot at Cardiff Bay. Magical views as it’s all glass. Staff not very friendly if you don’t know how it works. It was our first time so we sort of stood there trying to figure out if we would be seated or not. The guy at the counter kept organizing stuff without looking up to make eye contact. I had to go up to him finally and ask and then we sat. The food was delicious once we got past that.
I’ve been here twice before and I was looking forward to coming back again. However, I was hugely disappointed, the food was barely edible. I had the pancakes which were like rubber, fruit was 1 strawberry with the leaves still attached and a handful of blueberries. I asked for a soya milk latte which tasted odd and unfortunately made me sick. I’m not 100% sure it was soya milk as the reaction I had afterwards is the same as when I have cows milk. Also to be served in a paper cup when others had real mugs felt rude and off putting.
The service was rude and non existence, there was a sign saying wait to be seated so I did only to have to ask someone who was cleaning if I could sit anywhere. When I asked where to order, they said at the bar which turned out to be a screen. They were more interested in chatting in the kitchen than actually working and being helpful.
The atmosphere was horrible for a cafe at the bay, all of the tables were 6 seats which when you are on your own feels really awkward and uncomfortable to sit there. The music was beyond loud, it’s a cafe not a nightclub. I could sense people trying to shout over the music and it was hard to relax and enjoy myself.
Overall a very disappointing experience and I won’t be returning.
