  1. If can give 10 stars I would! Lovely cafe, soon as you come in the vibe is very welcoming and happy. Definitely a big sense of community, wish our town had this!

The food is so good, can’t remember the last time felt so much joy eating a toastie! Toast was on point, lettuce crisp and fresh, peppers flavourful as grilled, and the sauce is nothing I’ve had before..just so good.

The ladies who run this have obviously poured their heart into everything — food, genuine hospitality and sense of community/belonging. Like a previous reviewer said, the world definitely needs more cafes like this.

  2. I visited here as a recommendation and was not disappointed. I caught the 15/15a bus from the side entrance of the Broad Street mall and got off near to the pile of rubble which was the Dee Road fire station. The cafe is literally a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. It’s quite small with a long table and several smaller ones. There is a substantial menu offering a multitude of food and drink options. I went for a large mocha and a garlic mushroom toastie. You pay at the end by card. When it arrived both mocha and toastie were fantastic. Price for both including tip was £7.40 which I think was great value. The two ladies preparing food were very friendly and there were a number of families present. Really enjoyed myself and will be going back.

  3. This is a lovely place to go out to breakfast of locally sourced food with an environmental twist. The community feel is spot in, with artwork, dog photos, social groups, litter picking events, an economical refill area for household products and everyone felt very welcome. The owner Tina knows everyone’s name, and it is a special safe haven for the vulnerable and elderly. The Dee Road estate is lucky to have such a place.

  4. What a lovely friendly cafe. The Avo toasted sandwich was absolutely delicious, I’d highly recommend it. The coffee was lovely and my husband had a Maritozzi Bun which he loved. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are so nice and friendly. I can’t believe I haven’t visited sooner, I’ll most definitely be back and will be recommending others visit. You can also buy fresh farm eggs and Tilehurst honey here.

  5. Me and my partner went in for the first time today and we wish we checked it out sooner. As soon as you enter you are hit with a calming atmosphere which we definitely need after quite a few sleepless nights with out little one. The service we received was warm and welcoming. The food is delicious, definitely the best sausage bap I’ve had. I loved seeing how much they help community. Will 100% be coming back!
