  1. Crazy good food and experience. On top of that, it’s a beautiful place with super nice and helpful staff.

We had Chicken Biryani, Lamb Mimosa, Ruby Chicken and some other things I don’t remember. All of them were exceptional.

I recommend making a booking before. Although we were lucky to find a table without a booking, the place is super busy.

Overall, I rate it 15/10 and highly recommend the place for Indian food!

  2. Super good and original Indian foods.
Definitely a precious and distinctive place. I have never been to an Indian place like this.
Cozy, classic, good for family or friends.
Highly recommend to book in advance regardless of lunch or dinner.
Very crowded and long wait if you don’t book.
    Staffs are super attentive.

  3. I came here with one other person on a Friday night in mid September. We arrived at about 830 and had to wait one hour for our table. This was our first restaurant on our four night trip to London from NYC. About 35 minutes of that wait was outside on a line while the remainder of the time was at a cocktail area waiting for your table. The host staff were phenomenally kind and warm.

The menu is meant to be shareable plates. We had two appetizer/starter dishes and two larger meat plates along with a side of rice and some garlic naan. Everything tasted delicious. The inside had a stylish, retro, hip, and vibrant style/decor. The service staff in the restaurant were not as warm or on top of of their game as the host staff, but I won’t deduct an overall star for that.

I would tell everyone I know visiting London to put Dishoom on their itinerary. I was so happy we went.

  4. It is definitely an experience and a good one at that. The atmosphere is really nice with the interior design having art deco elements. They also have live music some days. The food is tasty but prepared for some spicy and hot dishes. The pricing is around 20-30 pounds per person assuming you’re sharing everything. I’m giving 4 stars because not accepting reservations in the evening and having to wait an hour to get a table seems on purpose. They make you wait in the bar, order drinks and give an impression the restaurant is super busy while there are some empty tables inside.

  5. The food here is absolutely amazing. It was some of the best Indian food I have had not being in India. The quality was fresh and it was plated nicely. The flavors were well blended and I really enjoyed eating here.

I’m giving a lower score for the service because the service was not efficient and the restaurant is understaffed. I order a bottle of water and that is brought to the table, but I have no glass and have to wait 10 minutes to get the attention of another server to bring me a glass. We also had a collection of glasses from the bar and I had to ask to get them removed from the table for us to have space.

The atmosphere in this place is loud. I didn’t enjoy that at all. In fact it was so loud I couldn’t even hear the people at my table talking. There was laps live music and you couldn’t hear that either. I had to put ear plugs in to hear the piano and be able to converse with my colleagues at dinner. This restaurant could invest in acoustic treatments that would go a long way. The loud noise and crowd of the place really detracted from the experience. If the food was not as good as it was I would have walked out. I don’t enjoy being in a place where it is that loud you can’t hear anything.

The place is clearly popular though. By the time I left there was a big line outside to get in.
