Downey’s Butcher & Deli

1. I just wanted to thank the staff in Downeys for their kindness and compassion when I was in to get lunch. My little girl had been crying and insolable leading to quite a stressful time in store. James and especially Niamh were so considerate and helpful supporting me. Their kindness and empathy was so overwhelming. Niamh is an earth angel going above and beyond to help me in that situation. I am truly grateful for all she did for me. Beautiful food as always and staff with hearts of gold going out of their way to assist people. Thank you Downey’s.

2. I don’t know how this place hasn’t got thousands of reviews. I’ve been coming here from the dawn of time and I’ve ordered almost the same thing every single time and it’s always absolutely delicious. Staff are great people and you got to take your hat off to them for retaining the same people for as long as they have. If they opened another branch anywhere else but Newry the demand would be crazy for them.

3. The men in here don’t know how to make a sandwich/roll. The food is amazing but the portion size from the men are so stingy you’d think it’s coming out there wages smh…

4. A great deli. They make the best sandwiches in Newry and have a great hot food selection. They also do great party platters
