  1. We came here during our holiday in Wales as a family of four.
We cannot recommend this place enough!
The staff are very friendly & nothing is ever a problem. As for the food. We had fish & chips & it really is probably the best in Wales.
I could not fault 1 bit of it & very reasonable on price.
If you are in Barry or in Wales make sure you give this place a visit.

  2. Came here for food as we’d been drinking all day. Staff were awesome. Really friendly. Food was fresh and served swiftly. Can highly recommend the pulled pork burger 👌🏻

  3. Service was good,
    Food was good,
We ended up eating here because of the great reviews,
they read….. Best place I’ve ever eaten,
Best service ever and so on,
It’s all good, the fish and chips are good, nice crispy batter not greasy and soggy, nice chips, not frozen bought in rubbish (if they are then great job) the service is good you will enjoy your experience here.
What I’m saying is (and everyone is entitled to their opinion that’s the point of reviewing)
I think some of these reviews are a mix of friends and family or maybe people that have never left Barri. This is not a bad review in any way, please come and eat here it’s good, just saying the reviews are a little hyped in my opinion.

  4. Ups and downs. The lamb burger was excellent and so was my son’s child’s meal. However, the ‘chimichurri’ was hilariously, and I mean hilariously bad. Not sure the chef knows what it is supposed to look like. Also, I’m a huge fan of the irony of preferring cash to card, so much so they have a big sign about it, but then not accepting a £50 note.

  5. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The steak was tender and very tasty.

The staff were friendly and guided me through the menu, I could tell they were passionate about their job. Shaz the shift manager was really nice and remembered the drinks we had previously ordered.

Overall a lovely experience in a local family run pub.
