Freshmans & Co. Fish & Chips

1. We had some lovely food here. Fish cooked to perfection and chips really tasty. My son had a cheese burger which he loved. Staff were really friendly and had a lovely indoor seating space with some highchairs for little ones and a toilet which was convenient for us as we needed to wash hands after an afternoon on the beach. There was also an adequate outdoor seating space with a few tables and chairs.

2. Possibly one of the worst portions of chips I’ve ever had cheap prices but could never imagine serving someone this crap

3. Fantastic friendly restaurant. Excellent value and quality. An OAP portion is offered, with a smaller fish, and is available to anyone. This was a perfect size for me! All freshly cooked and lightly battered as requested. Also dog friendly….we will be back!!

4. We were a party of 8 visiting the area including 2 small children and decided to eat inside.

   Food was average but not expensive and cost £55.00 for all of us to eat there.

   Was expecting something a bit more due to this being located in the bay and local competition.

   Chips and the mushy peas were too dry and the fish batter was far too thick, which was very crunchy.

   When the food was ready they did not have any small sausages for the children and substituted this for a large sausage betwen the 2. Unfortunately the children didn’t eat this and they said it was too spicey. I’m not sure if the small sausages are the same.

   Staff were pleasant enough and accommodating.

   Would suggest that they check their stock before confirming and paying for the order and not at point of serving whilst we were all sat down for 15 minutes waiting for the food to arrive.

   Overall was a quick place to stop to eat at a reasonable price.

5. Not great, the young girl serving was fairly rude and the chips were very dry, probably from the day before (we went at 12pm). The fish was good and made to order.
