Friary Leicester

1. Typical ‘old man’s’ pub vibe here with some dubious looking characters. Staff were nice and friendly but food needs to improve. The portions seemed small for a ‘sharing’ platter and the Katsu dish was not great in flavour or presentation. It’s a large pub with TV screens for sports etc I might add.

2. Great selection of beer and food, but lots of options were sold out the day we visited the place. I guessed they were the victims of their own success, but we were a bit sad though the we couldn’t have what we wanted try. Great team at the bar and kitchen! Spacious pub, cozy vibe!

3. Great place to eat and have a drink. Good and relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The food was ok but not brilliant

4. Had a lovely time! The Friary is well maintained really organized with excellent hygiene, the toilets are very clean. Also the food was lovely.

5. Decent chain pub in a beautiful building located close to the city. Often pop-in as it’s one of the quieter city centre pubs in terms of patronage meaning you can mostly find a seat without any trouble. Good selection of drinks and menu offers enough choice for everyone. The fact it’s a chain means you know exactly what you’re getting, it’s much like most other chain pubs in the area. Always rated it as a good place to guy for live sports, particularly when the more obvious places are full – good number of screens and decent size means it can accommodate groups and never had any trouble getting in when other pubs and bars are at capacity.
