Gaucho Manchester

1. We recently celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant, and the service was absolutely lovely. The front-of-house staff went above and beyond by writing us a thoughtful card to mark the occasion, which was such a sweet gesture. Our server, Jake, was also fantastic—attentive and personable, offering great service throughout the evening.

   We started with the scallops, which were outstanding. The lime added a perfect citrusy burst of flavor that elevated the dish. We also had the steak tartare, which was just as impressive. Both starters set a high bar for the rest of the meal.

   For the mains, we ordered the Gaucho Sampler Platter, which included a selection of rump, fillet, ribeye, and sirloin. While the quality of the meat itself was good, the execution was unfortunately disappointing. We asked for medium rare, but none of the steaks came out perfectly cooked. This was particularly frustrating as it’s a steakhouse, and we expected more precision—especially with cuts like the fillet and sirloin. The sirloin was so off that we sent it back, and though it was returned rare, it was at least edible the second time around.

   For dessert, we had the passionfruit mille-feuille, which was delightful. The flavors were well-balanced, but I felt the puff pastry could have been slightly thicker to enhance the texture.

   Overall, while the service and ambiance were excellent, the inconsistencies with the steak left us feeling a bit let down.

2. We had an amazing time here. Being served by the lovely Stefan made us feel welcome and well looked after. We went for the summer lunch set menu and loved all three courses! The empanada was delicious, the steak lived up to our expectations and more, plus the pistachio and raspberry ice cream dessert was an amazing final touch. We couldn’t fault this place and loved the decor of the restaurant.

   We will without a doubt come back again soon and perhaps try out the a la carte menu next.

3. This was a really great experience for my first time, the staff were absolutely amazing and really attentive. The alcohol list for this place is really quite amazing too. The food blew me away, I was really intrigued with the wagyu burger so I tried that but surprisingly the steak blew it out of the water, it was probably the most tender steak I’ve had to be honest. I was really glad to meet Jason the waiter too, who I’ve previously met at another bar before.

4. 1st time here for me and my wifes wedding anniversary. Meal was outstanding 👌 steaks cooked to perfection. Server was fabulous, really accommodating, chatty, helpful and really engaging giving the service experience 10 out of 10! Quite expensive but worth the money. To be fair, we went a little silly on the cocktails. Think £100+ went on drinks 🤦🤣🤣

5. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious steaks. Our server was attentive and friendly, and took the time to explain all the cuts of steaks to us. The spiral cut filet was the best steak I’ve ever tasted. The doorman was extremely nice and we had a wonderful time.
