Geaghan’s Pub & Craft Brewery

1. Had an awesome time at Geaghan’s Pub with friends! The place has a cozy pub vibe that made it perfect for hanging out and enjoying some good food.

   We kicked things off with the honey BBQ boneless wings, and they were super tasty. Then we got the Irish nachos—crispy, cheesy, and loaded with bacon and sour cream. Absolutely amazing, a 10/10 dish for sure.

   For my main, I went with the pub cheese chicken, and it was just as delicious and fresh as I hoped. Overall, a fantastic meal and experience. Definitely recommend!

2. We flew from Florida to Bangor Sunday night and some restaurants close at 7 pm. This pub has a later closing time and we are grateful to sit down for a hot meal after a long day. The pub is close to the airport and is attached to the Fireside Inn.
   This is a lively place, lots of customers on a Sunday night. The service is quick and good. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband had the pastrami sandwich and a one pint stout ($5). The food is delicious and reasonably priced.All in all a pleasant experience.

3. I have been coming to Geaghan’s for 25 years! It is a staple of our community. I have had hundreds of fantastic meals over the years and it remains in my top five favorite places to eat in Bangor.

   Recently, I went in and picked up a To-Go order (which I regularly do). I ordered the Chieften Melt with ouch sauce. When I got home, my sandwich didn’t have the ouch sauce but had no sauce at all. I called the restaurant to inform them as I’m sure my sandwich ended up with someone else’s order. The staff apologized and told me they would alert the manager. I hung up and ate the sandwich (good, but not as good without the burn of the sauce 🔥)

   Today, I received a call from Peter (the owner) to let me know he heard about the mistake and wanted to send me a gift card in the mail for the mishap. He explained that he likes to use these examples as a teaching moment for his team (to ensure people are checking to-go orders, etc.) I thanked him and reiterated that the quality and service at Geaghan’s is always top notch.

   To think the owner of a very successful restaurant taking the time to call a customer to apologize for a mistake, is unheard of in today’s world. If I could give this establishment more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat.

   It’s no wonder Geaghan’s has been in business for almost 50 years!

4. We were here a a few years ago and was pretty happy , but today not so much.. it may have been because we came In about 40 minutes before they close, I was very disappointed with the angry Irishman meat had a lot of grizzle in the beef and only two jalapeños, bacon was very soggy and under cooked , bread was not toasted much and became overly soggy. My onion rings must have been done before everything else because they were cold..Beer was good and the wife said her pastrami was good. Probably will try it again. Don’t really like giving bad reviews but gotta call them the way I see them..

5. First time going to Geaghan’s. Walked in and immediately the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and pleasant. People were having fun, making it easy to enjoy our time. The staff were very easy to talk to. They were helpful, knowledgeable about their menu items, and friendly. We will definitely be making this one of the regular places to go.
