Patrons have been enjoying The Golden Pear Cafe’s fresh baked goods and custom sandwhiches for years. The dining area inside is a bit cramped and for newcomers the ordering process can be a bit confusing. There’s one line for baked goods and another line for ordering prepared foods and salads. When it’s busy the lines can get crossed. Outdoor seating is available. The “Southampton” sandwhich which consists of turkey, Brie, tomato, lettuce and a Dijon vinaigrette was light and delicious. Sandwhiches come with a side of coleslaw, pasta salad, or side salad. Sandwich with side salad was $23.00.
The extremely small, single bathroom wasn’t that clean.
Coffee is atrocious. My cup was filled 2 thirds of the way, half of that was milk froth and the other tasted like burnt boiling water, if you know what good coffee tastes like don’t go here, it was undrinkable.
Also can’t sit outside because of the swarms of wasps.
Went there early in the morning, about two hours after they opened. Found two other older ladies there enjoying their breakfast and using their laptops to get some work done. Ordered a meal & coffee and worked on my laptop while eating my breakfast. As we were finishing up our breakfast, about 45 minutes in, the owner of the cafe approaches me and my friend to leave the establishment. When we inquired, he said that the limit for WiFi usage was only 25 minutes. We offered to switch to our mobile hotspot and even close our laptops and enjoy the rest of the meal, but he remained insistent that we needed to leave. Not only is it an incredibly unusual policy choice for a cafe, it was EXTREMELY suspect that the ONLY patrons they asked to leave were people of color.
Golden Pear Cafe its a very good little restaurant. They have a lot of choice. Everything is pretty good. I will definitely come back when I will have the chance.
everything is overly priced and food is bleh. One good male worker with glasses but the others just talk and ignore you. Better off going somewhere else
