#Greggs
NOT a good experience!
Chose a lunch type combo as I’d missed breakfast.
No seats available as all the tables were taken…some by folk who were in the queue to get served behind me!
Bit of a queue to be served, but then “luckily” a young lad hopped on the adjoining till. Showed him the food I’d picked, then asked for a coffee. He started to sort out the coffee, then his micro management skills took over – as he walked away from the counter without a word, then he spent a couple of minutes assisting the two women in the queue behind me to wipe down the table they’d occupied – before returning to finish serving me with the sum conversation/explanation of “your coffee”.
Pig ignorant. Should NOT be in a public facing role if he cannot prioritise tasks!
Also – no condiments (salt, etc.) & by the time I had the coffee my main food choices had cooled down somewhat.
Will use the local McDonalds next time I am in the area….
One lady she had Brown her How you speak with customers Very badly
Greggs?
What can I say about it, is it a decent place to grab a bite to eat? Meh…
It’s only the very best out of any & all Bakery chains & being a Geordie myself, it is a source of pride all us Geordies & may even be for all areas around the North East of England 🏴
I may be biased about that, but I am sure I am far from the only one who believes that.
Although the prices have gone crackers over the past few years, pretty much everything has to be fare. I remember getting ×4 Sausage Rolls for £1.10p now you pay that for ×1 but I don’t care tbh, my target is the Mighty Steak Bake. OMG they’re just the greatest food ever IMO.
I can’t get enough & it seems to be most people’s opinion as many many times I have gone & searched several Greggs shops I can’t get one unless I go early but I have got a winner now as a new shop has just opened at the top of Shields Road Byker & they stay open late so are always baking fresh food & there is nothing better than ×4 Steak Bakes fresh out of the oven.
Like I said, they are expensive as a Coffee from big chains, but I honestly don’t care… its not uncommon for me to walk out of there after spending around £25 /£30+.
9 times out of ten I am going to visit people so I buy for whomever is there so I get the orders in but when I call them to ask what they want, the Ooo’s & Arrr’s with dilite are always good to hear.
I am very proud of this Geordie chain that is now all over the UK as at one time it was just the North East area, not sure if in the early days it was ever just Newcastle or not, but now you can find a Greggs all over the place or in the words of an American tourists video on You Tube, HE was in London & he had just eaten his first ever pasty or something from Greggs but while bigging it up saying ” The best place to go for food in London was,
“GR – EGGS” a Londoner corrected him but it was super funny, no idea where the space between letters came from but hey, he loves Greggs which is a bonus.
I have also seen big American & Canadian Celebs trying Greggs on Lad Bible channel also on You Tube & they loved it, Ryan Reynolds, Will Smith & many others, I think Margot Robbie did but I’m not 100% on that.
Anyway I am rambling on here so I will stop now, Greggs keep up the fantastic work, maybe send me a discount card so I can eat tons more of your food lol, & let’s get Greggs to the US & Canada maybe even world wide.
How amazing would that be.
Much love from Newcastle & me Geordie Carl.
Just been to this Greggs and got served by a women of the name HAYLEY absolute cheek of her didn’t get half my order because she was in another world then because the internet is down could scan my rewards app. Fair enough not her fault but her tone of voice is disgusting.
Got the special – Three tacos for six pound. Good food at reasonable prices. Basic interior but definitely a short pit stop when yr feeling hungry and maybe a quick before or after a drinks night out. Definitely going back to try more.
