Mixed platter for 1 was excellent, I had the lamb shank and it was melt in your mouth with a really tasty meaty sauce that wasn’t over loaded with spice. Tasted the butter chicken great flavour and the chicken had a nice smokey flavour from the grill, very succulent. All the Naans and rice were good too. Pity I couldn’t have a few beers as I was driving.
A wonderful find in Newry whilst we were home visiting family. Definitely worth booking a table for a great night out. Decor is fantastic like a high-end city restaurant. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our food was delicious we ordered Chicken Jalfreze, Buttered Chicken, Nan Breads and Rice, everything was so well prepared. Definitely will be back on our next trip home.
Goods things happen to those who can wait!
It’s definitely a very busy restaurant and except for the minutes waiting for the table booked, the food and the service were impeccable!
Real Indian taste, clean place and very polite staff.
Good pricing too!
Recommend.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I ordered the dahi puri, and I can honestly say my mouth is watering even as I write this. The flavors were spot on—so refreshing and perfectly balanced! For dessert, I went for the brownie with ice cream, which is an absolute must-try. They serve the brownie hot, and it pairs beautifully with the ice cream. Plus, the presentation is so Instagram-friendly; it looked as good as it tasted! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to indulge in some delicious treats!
Guru Indian Cuisine offered a good overall experience with some aspects that could be even better.
Pros:
1. Flavorful Food: The curries were definitely the highlight. The ingredients seemed fresh, and the spice levels were well-balanced. I particularly enjoyed the vegeterian food were complex and delicious.
2. Attentive Service: The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure our water glasses were full and checking in on us regularly.
3. Nice Atmosphere: The restaurant itself had a pleasant ambiance. The decor was tasteful, and the lighting created a relaxed atmosphere.
Cons:
1. Limited Menu: While the food we had was good, the menu felt a bit on the limited side. For those with specific dietary restrictions or adventurous palates, there might not be as many options.
Overall, Guru Cuisine is a solid choice for Indian food in Newry. The food is flavorful, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
