Hans & Gretel | Southampton

1. We paid Hans and Gretel a visit because we saw how insane the fantasy ice creams, bubble waffles and chimney cakes looked.
   We tried one of each between the 3 of us. They were huge! But unfortunately, a little underwhelming. The ice creams were more sorbet and melted so quickly because they were very watery to start with.
   The chimney cakes were OK but didn’t have a lot of taste.
   The fantasy ice creams had a massive amount of candy floss on- which fell off the cone almost immediately 😳 It also got extremely messy!! So be prepared.
   The bubble waffle was the best out of the 3. It was very light and fluffy.

2. Had ice-cream from here & honestly the freshest, totally fruitiest I’ve ever tasted. My daughter had salted caramel & that too was delicious. I tried some of hers! Wasn’t pushed into buying & service was excellent 👌🏼.

3. I just bought a plain chimney cake and for £6.90 expected at least a whole one and not half a cake. Profit margin must be enormous as it would cost probably less than 50p for the ingredients. It also wasn’t cooked long enough. Far too doughy. Absolute rip-off and would not go there again. I have had chimney cakes before and they were much larger and cooked properly. Unfortunately, nobody said you only get half a cake.

4. I came across Hans & Gretel shop in Southampton Boat Show and I had a chocolate ice cream. It was delicious and I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely visit the shop in West Quay 👍

5. Incredibly unique and lovely experience. Perfect for kids and feels exactly like the witch’s house from the fairytale. Even tells you the story!
