Harvester Poachers Cottage Stoke

1. Food was fantastic! Very tasty, portion sizes good and the salad bar a great bonus.

   Cornbread in a hot honey glaze – out of this world tasty!

   Clean and really inviting place. Plenty if seating and lovely atmosphere.

   Service was the only thing that let them down.

   The gentleman that seated us was lovely, however the table staff were no where to be seen, had to find them to order. They were all busy chatting at the bar rather than keeping an eye on their tables.

   When we were served the waitress, did not seem very happy to be serving us.

   The table across from us got completely ignored by another waitress, when he tried asking for the bill.

   Would definitely recommend the food and give the place another try, when next in the area.

2. Pleasantly surprised by our visit to this Harvester staff were welcoming, food was fresh in the salad bar. Order was received quickly and was all cooked to a good standard and well flavoured. Only minor quibble was they didn’t have any mustard.

3. Outstanding service! We arrived without a booking and despite the restaurant being crowded, the manager & staff made every effort to find us a table without much of a wait. The manager and deputy manager were extremely helpful in particular. The food was good too (rack of ribs good!). Would go here again.

5. Slightly underwhelming experience. The room was cold, service was slow, a server coughed in my face, not enough cutlery on the table, had to pinch salt and pepper off another table, the salad bar is excellent with loads of choice but my steak was tough. Chips were OK, blue cheese sauce was delicious, desserts were good size and very nice. Decor is looking a bit tired. Would I go again? Not really, sorry.
