A cozy reprieve from the hustle and bustle of tourist-laden old town. It truly is a hideout. Blink and you’ll miss the entrance.
Warm yellow walls remind me of a bee hive. Lots of takeaway done here, but I stopped for a quick break and sit-down cortado. Unfortunately, there were almost no pastries available.
Well-brewed coffee and pleasantly balanced. Perfect temperature. A bit bigger than I expected personally, but it’s standard cortado size for Americans/Brits and I’m not going to complain about more coffee over less. The seating is limited so you take whatever you can get as it always seems busy. I wish I had more time to just sit and chill here.
Stopped here after a tour of Edinburgh castle. The cake slices and coffees were really delicious. Also tried the two smoothies they offer, and they were refreshing and very tasty. The employee was very nice and made the experience better! Definitely recommend.
Very small but cozy little cafe – it does feel like a hideout. Coffee here is very good, great flavour and some good snacks. Atmosphere is relaxed. Not good for big groups though
True to its name, this tiny cafe is located in a nondescript corner just stone throw away from Edinburgh Castle. It has however the 80s vibe inside and delivers good espresso based coffee. Sandwiches were ok nothing to call out. Beware it can get crowded very quickly especially during high tourist season. We’ve seen queues come and go within the half hour we were there.
Good place to relax after strolling around in Edinburgh old town. We enjoyed great cakes and coffee under a nice atmosphere. The honey cake and cinnamon roll are both very delicious.
