Hot Dumplings

1. I suppose it’s okay but that’s my opinion.

   The hot and and sour soup was a weird soup. It was watery and just tasted of pepper, very peppery. Now I search for hot and sour soups like a religion and this was not a proper hot and sour soup.

   No sourness to speak of and no hotness except peppery burn. It had a few pieces of meat and veg but that didn’t hold it together .

   The soup was more like a veg and peppery broth which would be fine if you fancied that after a walk in the hills .

   It is very peppery and burns your throat in a good way but there’s no deep dark smokey flavours no strong spicy and sweet mixture to smash your tongue .

   It’s Weird soup for sure.if your nan cooked it , you would add salt and potatos and be happy.

   The dumpling are weak in meat flavour and taste like herbs. Hot or cold they stayed the same.

   The ribs where knuckles of salt and didn’t really have enough meat on to really grasp the meat.

   Also the ribs didn’t have the best of flavour. More like a standard cheap packet flavour. There weren’t no chilies or other natural ingredients fried in with these.

   It’s a shame but I feel they haven’t got a good experienced chef to bring the real flavours of china to the town of aberythswith.

   Bonus was i got free prawn crackers.

2. It is the best Chinese takeaway in Aberystwyth. Every time I have gone, I’ve never been disappointed. The food taste and quality are always consistent and so tasty. I love the Cantonese-style sweet and sour chicken with egg-fried rice; it perfectly balances the sauce-to-veg ratio. Please try the hot dumplings.

3. Pretty extortionate. £20 for three things and by the looks of things they increased prices on their menu by about 80% from last year.

4. The food is always great from hot dumplings, I had the meal for one, there was plenty of food, I easily had enough for a second helping. The salt and pepper ribs are amazing

5. Hot dumplings by far is the best in Aberystwyth. The vegetable dumplings are truly out of this world. Seriously. The smell alone makes me salivate it’s that good. Was vegetarian for a long time and they were my favorite take away as not much veggie options in aber. I wish they sold them by the count as well as sometimes I want a bit more than what they come with but buying two is too much food for one person. My boyfriend loves the chicken balls and they are so good but honestly the dumplings are truly heaven. The workers are always so nice and seem like very hard working people and it really shows in the absolutely delicious food.
