We had an overall good experience here! I got the burrata eggplant dish, and it was delicious. And my husband got one of the chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it as well. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food and service.
The only complaint was that some of the appetizers were quite pricy and weren’t that great. The cheese steak eggroll was $15 for two egg rolls. And the chicken lettuce wraps were very simple and quite pricy, with two tiny pieces of chicken on each.
But despite the appetizers, we really enjoyed the main courses and the service.
We had a great time and the food was delicious. The Spicy Chicken Nachos were on point, Winnie had tacos with rice, and Candy had Pull Pork Sandwich with sweet potato fries. The drinks and atmosphere were great also.
My husband and I hadn’t been to Ironhill in a while and we now know that we don’t need to go back probably ever. It wasn’t horrible or horrendous. It just wasn’t worth our time or money. We ordered the soft pretzel as a starter, which actually was pretty decent and somewhat tasted like an Auntie Ann’s pretzel. From there, it was downhill. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was crisp, but very tough… my husband really likes schnitzel so he ordered the schnitzel platter and he claimed that everything on his plate had to no flavor. Our nephew ordered one of the burgers and didn’t even finish it or want to box to take it home. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but it isn’t the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to either.
Went there for a snack and drink. Had wings and Brussels sprouts. Had their IPA and they brought out two sample beers with my order. Those samples lead me to have another beer. All were very good. Wings were nothing special, but the sprouts were amazing. Also was there around 5:45 and I ended up being happy hour so beers were discounted. Awesome!
The Halibut was burnt, dry and tough. Additionally we ordered 2 Halibuts and neither even tasted like Halibut. Not sure what it was. It was way overcooked and was supposed to come with smashed Yukon gold potatoes but to our surprise had tasteless fingerlings potatoes. Instead of beurre blanc they gave us melted butter that did not disappoint with the lack of flavor. None of the other the items had any flavor at all. We also got the pork chop with the chutney. The Brussels sprouts lacked any hint of flavor. The fingerling potatoes also lacked flavor. The cheddar popper were greasy super dense and lacked flavor. Totally horrible experience.. Stay away. It seems like everything may be good to folks after downing a few of the brews and partly intoxicated.. Run and Run fast.. Definitely not what it used to be…
