Awesome freshly baked buns and nice coffee by the river.
Pastries smell heavenly. The savory and sweet choices are all so tempting (pistachio and raspberry, frangipane and almond, cinnamon and cardamom). I chose the recommended spicy scallion one as it’s unique. It’s fabulous indeed. Crunchy on the outer layer, soft and moist inside. Not oily at all. So flavorful.
And of course my friends said the cinnamon bun is the best in town as well.
Coffee is of medium roast. My iced (Yayy) flat white has a slight nutty and floral note. The view is gorgeous in front of the river.
I have to tell you, that this place is a gem. Coffee is amazing, amazing, amazing. Even to my snob, European standards. But. The. Things they bake there… They are to die for. I have a tendency to call places “the best” too soon, so I waited with this review for so long. Just to make sure, it’s not another “best place in Cambridge if you love coffee and pastries”. No, it’s not. This is the best! The bestest!
Lovely setting and great coffee. Had a very nice V60. The weather was lovely so the outside seating was fine, but wouldn’t be quite the same experience if it had been raining or cold.
Kerb Collective is a very nice coffee shop just outside Cambridge. It’s perfect for a nice walk along the river and, in good weather, you’re rewarded with a beautiful view in the garden. The coffee itself was very tasty, slightly acidy, but unfortunately the milk in the flat white was steamed a little too hot and thus tasted slightly burnt. The staff was generally friendly, but discussed some topics and only dealt with us in passing, which was a bit unfortunate. I would still come back again.
Looks can be deceiving. Don’t assume this is a little shack by the river peddling coffee (though I’d argue it adds to the atmosphere!) these people seriously know what they are doing. The coffee tastes specialty, with quite a bit of variation in character depending on what they are using, and is superbly made. Staff are friendly. River views are awesome. But oh my goodness, THE RASPBERRY AND PISTACHIO BUNS will be the end of me. They are so good!
