Killeavy Castle Estate

1. We ate at Calliagh Berra Bistro And Bar on Saturday and it was very nice. The meal was very nice. Staff were excellent and friendly. They have got it right at this bistro.

   Top tip. When booking ask for the table in the corner by the bar next to the window.

   This way your private and can chat away in private with a view of the estate. Otherwise you could be stuck in the middle somewhere as it does get busy.

   Overall a really nice place and would recommend for a couple to go and eat there.

   Have 5 starred everything but we didn’t stay overnight.

   We also purchased some meats and veg from the farm store. Really reasonable prices and the guy behind the counter was super friendly.

   All in all a great night.

   Well worth a visit for a meal and to get some proper meat from the farm shop.

   My only negative point were some chips that came with the burger. They were not fresh cooked. They seemed old and just heated up. Get the chips sorted and all good.

2. Had a couple nights stay here in a “garden room”. Fantastic hotel, wonderful staff. Room was lovely and spacious, the only thing I would suggest would be some extra drawers & hanging space for clothes etc, maybe some coat hooks.

   We ate both nights in the Bistro bar. Again experiencing excellent service to go with the amazing food served. Would not hesitate to recommend eating here, with much more palatable prices to the main restaurant.

3. This is a fabulous wedding location. The food is amazing and the service is superb. The rooms in the castle are beautiful and the rooms in the new hotel are also lovely. We have also had afternoon tea at Killeavy Castle and it was simply delicious

4. Did not stay here but would love to .The castle and its walls are stunningly restored and there are tunnels which lead down to the main part of the hotel. Did not wander around the hotel but looked in from the outside and it looked fab. Was attending a wedding there in the permanent marquee structure which is beside the castle. Great evening with great band called entourage.
   It was a cold night but open fire burning in the reception area of the castle added to the charm of the place. Cannot comment on the rooms in the hotel but the 4 bedrooms in the castle itself had 4 poster beds. There is a circular library in the turret of the castle. Regal charm. Worth a visit.

5. Amazing, wonderful staff. One better than the next & Eugine was our super hero. He made sure he went above & beyond for not just me but for everyone at the wedding. Couldn’t say enough for the 2 days of pure enjoyment. Farm to fork was a pure joy & their ‘melt in your mouth’ beef was unmatched. Absolutely delightful. One Couldn’t go wrong in choosing Kileavey Castle. It deserves 7 stars from Cork.
