I give up on this store. Lived in Castle Rock 20 years and can honestly say, since this store opened, they just can’t seem to get it together. Every time I go, they are either out of this or out of that. It’s never consistent. Crowds like you wouldn’t beleive. Don’t go during any peak hours. Must go first thing in AM to have chance of getting things after night stockers have replenished. Going to other grocery stores in the area now. Store supports too many people from too many areas, and it shows. Out of stock issues are common. Terrible store item organization system which they are still refining after years since opening, and it’s still not accurate. Avoid deli at all costs during peak hours.
I have shopped here less and less. What has really bothered me is the customer service in regard to digital coupons. I purchase avocados on sale and did not see that it was a digital coupon, did not have the app currently downloaded and the employee refused to honor it as I’m struggling juggling children and trying to get out of the store as quickly as possible. I had to take the time to download the app, and the coupon didn’t even work and he had to enter manually anyway. With the massive surge in grocery costs, a store that can’t even honor a digital coupon doesn’t deserve my business.
I worked with the floral department at this King’s for my wedding arrangements. They did such an amazing job on everything from the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, arrangements, and boutonnieres. If you are need of wedding flowers, you should see Lisa and Karen in floral. They were professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with.
Had the most frustrating experience at this store. Tried to buy alcohol, but they wouldn’t sell it to me because someone with me didn’t have an ID—even though they weren’t buying anything. Fine. I left and came back 2 hours later alone, with my ID ready, but they still refused to sell it, saying it was related to the earlier “situation,” even though I was by myself.
What really made me upset was watching them immediately sell alcohol to the next customer, who didn’t seem to face the same scrutiny. As a black man, the whole situation made me feel uncomfortable, like I was being treated differently for reasons beyond the supposed policy. I won’t be coming back.
Ignore my below review, my wife was inappropriately touched by an employee at this Store. In this day and age this is plain disgusting. I don’t care what their staffing issues are, how dare you hire employees that can do this.
This location is 100x better than the old one. They have literally everything at this new location; groceries, cloths, housewares, pharmacy and more. There is a Starbucks and a US Bank inside. They have an A+ Sushi bar and custom sandwich service at the deli. In my opinion, best grocery store in the Castle Rock area.
