Kobe Steakhouse & Cocktail Lounge

1. This was hands down the best meal I have eaten in every aspect. The food was divine and the restaurant is gorgeous, but the service was 5 star. Never have I been made to feel so comfortable and attended to. Alex our server is such a credit to this restaurant and I hope he knows just how much his attentiveness, well timed humour and service ability is appreciated and respected. The cocktails were incomparable and the wine service outstanding. We didn’t even tell them it was my birthday, but Alex being so diligent and considerate still went and had a happy birthday treat made for me. I can not explain how great this experience was. Definitely the best place for a dining experience in Milton Keynes. Also, I want mention as someone who is allergic to a few different items, not once did I feel different to the rest of my party and my dietary needs were worked around without me having to mention it more than once, I can not tell you how much that meant to me. Thankyou Kobe team and especially Alex!

2. My friends and I visited for a catch-up meal last night, 13/09/2024, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The host at the door was incredibly polite, took our coats, and promptly escorted us to our table. The ambience was outstanding – the elegant mix of plants, chandeliers, and perfect lighting created a truly luxurious atmosphere. I honestly don’t understand any negative comments about this place, because there are no negatives!

   Service was top-notch throughout. We were offered a bottle of water right away and never felt rushed to order. Our starters were delicious and arrived promptly, with plates swiftly cleared in time for the main course. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the oyster mushrooms practically melted in your mouth.

   Adam took care of us the entire evening, from regular check-ins to great recommendations. He was genuine, attentive, and added to the overall experience.

   I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a classy dining experience. It’s a solid 5-star service all around.

3. Superb food, cannot fault the service.
   I got the English Wagyu, which was one the best steaks I’ve had.
   My family’s food, along with their drinks, were also excellent.
   And the service was also top notch.
   It was a belated anniversary meal, for which they also gave complimentary drinks and truffles.
   The whole experience was brilliant, and we would definitely return.

   Wow, see the comment from the owner, I have been BANNED from the restaurant!!! Haha. This is how they treat people who write balanced and honest reviews. 🤣🤣🤣

   They wrote that they believe I’m targeting their restaurant – REALLY??? haha!!!

   I have reduced my rating from 4 stars to 1.

   Updated 12/09/2024:
   I have reduced my rating based on the email engagement with Paula from customer service. She states that the service charge is listed at the bottom of the menu and the 200ml Diet Coke measurement is also listed. My eyesight is pretty good, but the menu text is very small and the lighting is dim, so I struggled to read the menu. Also, nobody looks at the menu for ‘Diet Coke’, you just ask for it – and I’ve never been to a restaurant before that has provided just 200ml, especially for £3.95!!!

   I won’t be visiting here again and I will recommend my friends, family and colleagues to go to Miller and Carter.

   The bad:
   A £9.47 (12.5%} service charge was added to the bill and not pointed out to me. We were only 2 people with 1 course each.

   £4 for a 200ml bottle of Diet Coke is absurd. It doesn’t list 200ml on the menu, I wouldn’t have ordered it if I had known.

   The chips were very soft.

   The steak comes with a small portion of chips and a very small sauce.

   The toilets are a tired and 1 of the 2 urinals is labelled as out of order.

   The good:
   The steak (medium rare) was very nice.

   There were no other customers (at lunchtime on a Monday). I saw 5 members of staff!

   The text on the menu is small and the lighting is low, so bring reading glasses if you need them!

   Overall:
   It was a good experience, but I wouldn’t go again. Instead, I’d go to Miller and Carter which is better value for money (more sauce, larger sauce and side salad) and just as good or slightly better in terms of quality. Plus they don’t add on a sneaky 12.5% service charge!

5. Incredible steak but don’t bother with the sushi.
   Absolutely amazing quality beef, delicious and cooked so well but the sushi rice was overcooked making it mushy. To be honest why would you go to an incredible steak place and get sushi anyway 🤷‍♂️
   Service was top notch, friendly, fast and polite.
