We were in Edinburgh for 5 days and 3 of those 5 days we ate breakfast here. The owner is very nice, the service is great and the food is really good. I‘ve tried a Bagel as well as the pancakes and both were delicious. The coffee is also really good. They also have good music playing. Definitely recommend going here! 🙂
We came here for breakfast thinking it was a French restaurant but it isn’t anymore, which was really confusing. They didn’t have any of the pictures here on the menu. It’s now called Ben’s cafe, just selling bagels and American pancakes, no pastries or crêpes. The pancakes we had were nice, but I couldn’t drink the cappuccino.
My first bagle. And it was safe to say the best. Taste was really as i expected. Actually i did not. Since we indians needs a higher punch of salt and masala in our food.
But they did without these.
My wife had pancakes with maple syrup and she confirmed that it was one of the best experiences

Came here for breakfast. A lovely stop before a busy day. Staff were lovely and friendly.
The cafe was easy to get to and within a short walk (10mins) of Edinburgh castle.
The food was delicious, the only thing we might not order again was the latte.
Lovely place, lovely food. Whole experience was marred by the fact that they assumed we would tip, and also assumed how much by and included it in the bill. Lacked class.
Update 13/10/24: Unfortunately, I absolutely have the right place. We were there in the third week of August 2023. There was a service charge included. We sat by the counter and my girlfriend who is half-french struck up a conversation with the owner who was from Normandy (or Brittany).
Hopefully, it’s no longer being done, which is good to hear.
