I bought my husband this as a present and he could not have been happier. We went to the Derry/Londonderry culture night event, which was a mix of traditional American style BBQ and Indian heritage style. We were so impressed with every single part of the evening. The food was obviously the main highlight and it was absolutely incredible 👌 However the location and hosts were honestly out of this world. Emily and Norm were so inviting and friendly from the get go, explaining their love for BBQ, how different things are cooked on different BBQ/smokers and just overall making us feel like we were at home eating with friends we had known for a long time (even though we had just met). They are both so knowledgeable and you can taste their love for BBQ and flavours through their food. We will without a doubt be back for one of the cooking schools in the near future.
We enjoyed a most fabulous evening at the Lo & SLO BBQ meal – from being driven down to the site in a fabulous trailer, being greeted with a delicious cocktail, learning more about the meal and how it had all been cooked, it was a truly special treat to attend! Would highly recommend to anyone to try and get tickets for one of the events!
Great experience. Answered many of my questions as well as hands on experience. All the food was lovely and they only used the best quality ingredients throughout! Would advise any foodies or BBQ addicts to go!
Great Saturday morning and afternoon spent at the BBQ school hosted by the incredibly talented Emily and Norman McCorkell at the picturesque walled garden of Brook Hall Estate, and I can’t recommend it enough! Their passion for BBQ is truly infectious, and they excel at sharing their extensive knowledge of various BBQ techniques, including the Kamado grill and other smokers.
Throughout the experience, we had the opportunity to cook a delightful array of meats, chicken, and vegetables, all infused with amazing flavors thanks to Emily and Norman’s unique spices and mop sauces. Each dish was a testament to their expertise and dedication to creating memorable culinary experiences
One of the highlights for me was the chance to make and cook my own pizza. The process was both fun and educational, the pizza was delicious I’ll be making my own from now on lol.
If you’re looking to elevate your BBQ skills, this experience is a must. Be sure to check out the Lo & Slo Facebook page for upcoming dates. A big thank you again to Emily and Norman for a wonderful and enriching experience!
I’m already looking forward to the nxt one Mexican style
Big thank you to Emily and Norm, great day out but at Brook Hall Estate. The BBQ school was excellent, very informative on all aspects of BBQing, the Mussels and bread was amazing.
