Machina Coffee – Marchmont Cafe

   Saturday morning
   Come here early, it will be packed easily. Family friendly and bookable tables.
   Flat white has nice balance of coffee taste and milk, tastes fresh and nice.

2. A new, clean and modern coffee place doing really nice blends. The atmosphere is very relaxing and it’s relatively spacious. There is some seating outside if the weather allows it. The staff are friendly and the service was on time. I’m giving 4 stars because there wasn’t anything that wowed both coffee and food wise. In this area, good coffee and cakes are a regular and common so I was expecting something unique, something more special in their offering that would drag me back for more as opposed to just stopping by when I’m nearby. Overall, you won’t be disappointed but if you have been around different cafés around, you might not find anything more.

3. Paid nearly £10 for a sandwich with no contents in it, was pretty sad considering the price that there was 3 leaves of spinach and a single thin and empty layer of cheese and ham. Nice coffee but wasn’t happy with the food at all considering the price. I hate to be mean, I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 4 years and love praising local businesses but this was just really frustrating for the price! There are just so many amazing food places in edinburgh for half the price and double the quality !

4. Sun 18th Aug
   Had a batch coffee and vegan cinnamon bun. Lovely to have a choice of roast- a fun way to try out different coffees but only opted for batch coffee since oat milk had an extra charge, the cinnamon bun was too hearty for my taste. Lovely staff and location over all.

5. This place is so cosy! It has a laptop space for studying and laptop free tables if you’re just up to some coffee and food. We came for a brunch and I’m so happy we did so. The food is tasty, not the best out there but I enjoyed it. I’d recommend you order avocado toast with smoke salmon and chives. Such a friendly staff. Kudos! 🩷
