My room could have done with a bit of an update but apart from that my stay was very pleasant.
The rooms are spacious and beds comfy.
All the staff were lovely, special thanks to the night porter who made me a tea every morning due to the fact I was leaving before breakfast
We went for a show and arrived an hour early to get food. Our order was taken promptly but the food didn’t arrive for 45ish minutes leaving us in a mad rush to be on time for the show. There was only one other table of customers at the time so it wasn’t because they were busy. Didn’t stay over so can’t review the rooms but the service was certainly woeful.
Called in for something to eat. Asked the bar man if I could bring the dog in and he said not a problem we sat at a corner table and the food was brilliant could not fault it. Would definitely go back again.
Ridiculous customer service. Cancelled our room today (17/09) at 9.47 AM and are currently messaging us at 8pm about how we will still be charged because they resolved the issues at 4:30. Check in ment to be 3 pm. We have already returned home after long journey. Manager desperately needs training if this is how the resolve issues. Can not harass customers if an issue of their own.
Abysmal food/service for lunch today. Despite saying several times that I couldn’t have a particular ingredient, after over an hour waiting my sandwich came down filled with it. Same with side salad. Bread was also stale and coldslaw warm and tasted off.
When questioned waitress admitted to preparing my food not the chef as they were “too busy”. Said she added the ingredient for extra flavour despite the docket specifically requesting otherwise. We were told they had 2 chefs on and could only handle 5 tables at a time so with 7 tables it was chaos. Most people ordered sandwiches and/or soup.

Feeling quite nauseous now to be completely honest, had taken a bite of the sandwich before I realised that it was full of the one thing I had said not to put on it.🤢
Complained to manager and he didn’t seem bothered. No applogy, just said they’d log a complaint. Environmental health need to be informed as if someone had an allergy there would be no regard on The Mellon at all. So disappointing. Definitely never ever again 😢
