  1. Mumtaz Leeds has been on my “to do” list for over 5 years. I wish I had visited sooner. Excellent experience all round. The location is very convenient and easily accessible from the motorway. Large free car park is very welcome after a 2 hour drive to get to the venue. The waterside location is very pretty in the day and really comes alive at night.

We arrived at a reasonably busy time for the restaurant, but nevertheless were seated very quickly. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable in the menu items. The food arrived very quickly and was thoroughly enjoyed. This alone is enough reason to return. I hope it is not another 5 years before I do so.

  2. The food here doesn’t quite match up to their Bradford branch, but the atmosphere benefits from the lovely riverfront setting. Service was on the slow side, though the staff were polite and attentive.

One highlight was the mango lassi, which was refreshing and delicious. They also offer a range of fresh juices that are worth trying. The restaurant’s location at the docks provides a great river view, adding to the overall experience.

Inside, there’s a shop selling their own perfumes, curry paste, spices, ghee, and more, which is a nice addition. Despite some drawbacks, the pleasant ambiance and courteous service make this spot worth considering.

  3. Very disappointed with the food to be honest and the lamb biryani was more lamb pilau.

But the atmosphere was brilliant and very spacious.

But they need to work on the biryani for sure.

The only thing that was nice was the poppadoms

  4. Enjoyed the atmosphere, staff were friendly & helpful. Great food, very authentic & just what we were looking for with a real depth to the flavours. We visited on a Saturday at 8pm without making a reservation & were seated within 10 minutes. Please note restaurant does not serve alcohol.

  5. The restaurant is elegant and exquisite, with aesthetics that are on another level. As you enter, you’re immediately struck by the rich decor, perfect for a selfie or photo. The huge chandeliers add a touch of grandeur, making the ambiance even more special. Unique touches like the availability of perfume, cigars, and seasonings for purchase add to its charm. The waterfront seating area and the presence of a piano further enhance the sophisticated atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming, kind, and helpful, making you feel right at home.

The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, making it hard to choose just a few. I ended up ordering a mix grill, samosa chaat, masala fish, butter chicken, nihari, lasagna, and mango lassi. Every dish came out looking classy and appetizing. The starter was fantastic! The masala fish was cooked to perfection, and the samosa chaat was delicious. My favorite was the butter chicken, bursting with flavors and incredibly tasty. However, the nihari lacked some flavor and was missing something. The mango lassi was fresh and refreshing. Despite the high quality of the food and the luxurious setting, the prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Overall, my experience was amazing. Our server, Imran, was friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience possible. The restaurant also features a prayer room with a washing area for ablution, and the toilets were clean and well-maintained. It’s evident that the restaurant takes pride in maintaining a high standard.

Notably, the restaurant has hosted many famous people, including the Queen herself. This prestigious history adds to its allure, making it a must-visit destination. From the beautiful chandeliers to the exceptional service, every detail contributes to a memorable dining experience. The combination of delicious food, a luxurious setting, and reasonable prices makes this restaurant a standout choice. I will definitely be going again !!!
