I enjoyed a delightful meal at Mussel Inn Seafood Restaurant, starting with incredibly fresh oysters and perfectly cooked mussels. The **Seafood Hot Platter** was the highlight, featuring a superb selection of fresh, flavorful seafood. To top it off, the **Sticky Toffee Pudding** was a fantastic dessert, rich and satisfying. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy. A must-visit for seafood lovers!
A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️is nothing to be ashamed of but if anyone gives it more than that they’re fooling themselves.
The food is decent. Mostly fresh but can use more flavors. The £34 hot platter is barely enough for one person and the mussel pot goes out faster than the speed of light if you’re sharing. The haggis is surprisingly flavorful with the carrot purée sauce. The seafood pasta might be the most tasty dish but £25 is just not right. I know garlic doesn’t cost that much.
They do slap a 10% service fee and while I understand that as an American, what I don’t understand is how the waitstaff never comes back until it’s time to pay and if you need anything before that you have to wave at them like you’re saying farewell to your love ones on the titanic — no one ever refills the water. We dropped a fork and no one even look at our direction. It’s all fine and good until the £10 surcharge shows up on the bill. For what?
For £100 we had barely enough for the 3 of us and we highly recommend trying other seafood place before stepping into this one.
Was recommended by a colleague, and it was so good I sent them a photo between courses to make them jealous!
Excellent seafood of all types, and the mussels really were brilliant, I’d definitely go again if I’m lucky enough to be back in Edinburgh.
And yes we had Irn Bru, haven’t had it in years, a very nostalgic treat😊
Overall I am happy with the food quality and taste. We ordered Oysters which is just ok .. a bit more ocean taste to me . Mussel is good . We ordered 2 different flavours of mussel . I like the chef recommendation one better but both are good ! Pasta is normal . I’d recommend this restaurant if you are big fans of mussels. BTW, there were 9 tables , 6 were Asian one including us . 4 out of 6 speak mandarin so I guess it has been posted in XHS …. 🤔😆
Ordered 3 chilled oysters and 1 pot of shallot mussels. Both are fresh and delicious, especially the mussels. I would definitely recommend them. I was disappointed that the mussel pot doesn’t come with bread anymore but after finishing the pot, I was full! Still, it would be nice if it can be accompanied by 2 pieces of bread, for the broth.
