This is a cozy little coffee shop in a very beautiful Birmingham neighborhood. It’s nestled away from the hustle of the city activity so it’s a very relaxed atmosphere.
When you step into the shop you feel as if you’ve been transported back in time. The decor is old English and has a historic feel to it.
There are many flavors and variations of coffee available to choose from. The baristas were so knowledgeable about the products and were eager to make suggestions when needed.
There are several seats inside as well as tables outside to sit and study alone or enjoy a coffee with friends. There is a Mexican restaurant right next door that has super fast service and good food, along with spirits.
Disclosure: one of the baristas at O’Henry’s is my son. I realize I am biased in saying that he is very personable, has great energy and makes the best iced lattes! 😉
Aaliyah was working alongside Garrett the day I came in and upon asking about the blueberry iced latte, she shared that she had made herself and white chocolate iced blueberry latte and really enjoyed it. So I ordered that very drink and it was DELICIOUS!
I always want to give honest reviews with integrity. With that being said, I forewarned my son that I would have to take one star off the review for the lack of more cleanliness in the shop. The mirrors behind the coffee syrups were dirty and the wooden mantel needed to be dusted.
Aside from that, I absolutely loved everything about my first visit at O’Henry’s and definitely recommend it!
Reminded me of a coffee shop in NYC. Had the Orange Cranberry muffin that was as moist as possible as you can see from the pic. To drink had Honey Cinnamon Latte which was a first for me and very delicious.
Every time I come in here the staff is so kind and works so quickly. Whether you’re coming in to sit down or you’re in and out with a to-go coffee, it’s sure to be a good experience! The music is chill and not too loud. It’s a cozy little space with not much seating but it does have a good amount of outdoor seating for nicer days! O’Henry’s is a Birmingham staple and this location helps keep that reputation up! They have coffee, teas, and pastries both sweet and savory.
Pleasant atmosphere with a couple good patio spots. Good spot for me to stop towards the end of the workday since they stay open till 6 o’clock and there aren’t many coffee shops that do. Coffee at all of these is a little subpar in terms of quality of the beans, but it’s still a great spot to stop and get some work done.
Other than the sometimes poor attitude that I receive from the red-haired barista working there, this place delivers amazing coffee and delicious pastries! I love the location and atmosphere of the coffee shop, but again, customer service can make or break these types of places and can turn local gems into places we try to avoid all due to mediocre attitudes & service. And if any of the employees giving poor service is a manager, that’s highly disappointing. First impressions & continuous impressions are everything in the service industry.
