We usually have good service at this location but we left a bit shocked this afternoon when we were still working around 1:40pm when the lights were completely turned off leaving us confused for a few minutes. My husband walked to the front door to find that we had been locked in. I then walked to the register area to find an employee to whom I asked “are you closed?”. I’m not really sure if she said anything but got the hint that yes, they were closing. Nothing was said to either of us while we were sitting down and online listed the place as being open until 4pm. I understand that mistakes happen but we had to quickly gather our belongings in the dark while the, still silent, employee just stood at the front door waiting for us to leave. Again, I get that things happen but this definitely left a sour taste in my mouth considering we were not even told a sorry or given any explanation.
I usually don’t like leaving 1 star reviews but O’henry’s has earned it. This establishment has succeeded only in being inconsistent and low in quality. I’ve tried to give them enough grace to hope it will improve every time, but my most recent visit was the last nail in the coffin. I am extremely lactose intolerant and the employees rolled their eyes when the person picking up my coffee asked if they made it with oat milk. I always write a big bold note referencing my lactose intolerance. Why? Because multiple times previously my coffee has been made with regular milk. When receiving my coffee it tasted as if it was made with milk that was expired and had a terrible flavor to it. The employee insisted it was made with oat milk but if it was, it was beyond spoiled. The second coffee I received as a remake looked completely different than the first indicative of the first beverage being somehow made differently even though “the exact same recipe was used” This replacement was marginally improved compared to the first. As the only coffee shop in this area they have an incredible opportunity to be the best and only option and unfortunately they are the only option. When asking to speak to the manager/owner who was in the store, I was told he was unavailable. Don’t waste your time or money.
No names taken, if the drink was not made right be prepared to pay for a new one.
The only complaint is I wish the employees were nice enough here. Don’t get a great vibe from the staff. Very reserved and feel brushed off.
The coffee is fabulous, but ya gotta grab a cinnamon roll for the full O’H experience. They are so fresh and O’H so gooey. See what I did there? 😁
