The croissant was fresh and flaky, nice.
The cup was small for £4. The mocha was thick, with bitter chocolate and tasted high quality (4.2/5)
What put me off was the milk used was left out. Shouldn’t it go in fridge?
The woman serving looked moody, but it’s about the place and coffee.
The place reminded me of a hospital waiting room. Hard seats, pretentious positioning of stools and a single table in the middle of the room.
I appreciate the music wasn’t blaring out, but the feeling is just ‘off’.
Above average mocha, in a place I wouldn’t go back to.
Slightly higher prices than the usual cafe but the coffee quality is excellent. You have two types of coffee beans to choose from daily (excluding the decaf option). Great space in the cafe to read – minimalist, well-designed. Good service with a smile.
Nice to have the option to go here for speciality coffee rather than popping in to Pret which is close by. Origin has very good coffee and has a small shop to purchase coffee beans, filter papers for your v60 or aeropress, and merchandise.
They sell baked goods from 2 different local bakeries which are fresh daily. I had a pain au chocolate which was flaky and lovely.
I would love to see more substantial food options here like sandwiches.
Really lovely peaceful environment here. Simple decoration, soft music, and beautiful cups.
I’m an Origin weekly subscriber so was keen to see their Bristol cafe; beautifully decorated, clean and sparse, ample seating along the walls, and a nice atmosphere of people drinking and reading and enjoying the morning sun. Nice selection of beans on hand and menu prices are about what you’d expect from a top-tier roaster.
My only knock – I ordered an iced batch brew and, honestly, have never seen a smaller cup. Maybe it’s the American in me but with the ice I’m guessing I got maybe 6 oz of coffee? For £3.50. Coffee was tasty – but cmon, guys! Just pour me a slightly bigger cup! Felt like a child walking around with a sippy cup.
Edit: thanks, Origin team, for the response! I think clarifying the size is a great option / suggestion to help people understand what they are getting. Bumping to five stars given that change 🙂
Beautiful space. Clean, calm and great coffee and snacks. Also a small space for working with a laptop as well. The service was really great and friendly as well. Highly recommend!
