This little coffee gem is tucked near the end of Lark Lane, close to Sefton Park, nestled between Milo Lounge and Pippin’s Corner. I arrived at 12:15 and sat at a table. Unfortunately, my phone had no signal, and there was no Wi-Fi available. The place was busy but clean.
After waiting for about 10 minutes without service, I realized everyone was ordering at the bar—something I hadn’t experienced here before. I ordered a flat white, a San Pellegrino Blood Orange, scrambled eggs on toast with smoked bacon, and a side of three hash browns and roasted mushrooms.
My San Pellegrino arrived with ice, and at 12:35, my flat white followed. It featured a medium to dark roast, surprisingly light with no burnt notes, yet full-bodied in flavor.
By 12:40, my food arrived at a good temperature. The bread was a bit tough to cut through, and one slice of bacon was overly crunchy while the rest was cooked perfectly. The hash browns were spot on—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and lightly salted. The scrambled eggs were light, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned, prepared without chives as requested. The roasted mushrooms were the highlight—the best I’ve ever had, seemingly spiced with a piri piri mix, and incredibly juicy.
So good we came back the next day. Great coffee, cannot stress that enough.

Always great coffee, really friendly staff and the food is fab! Had the granola and classic French toast with bacon between us on this visit. Both excellent (not like a lot of places who have jumped on the French toast bandwagon and overload it with faff!)
I ordered a takeaway coffee on a casual Monday afternoon, expecting a quick service given that there were only a few tables in the venue. However, after waiting 10 minutes, I noticed the barista giving me annoyed looks, and the woman ahead of me had been waiting for 20 minutes. When I asked about my order, I saw staff more focused on washing dishes with cold water—no dish soap in sight—behind a very dirty counter. Honestly, it looked like it would fail a food hygiene inspection.
When I requested a refund, I was charged again, bringing my total to £10.10 for ONE COFFEE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED. This felt completely unreasonable. I ended up going somewhere else, where I paid much less and got a coffee served in just 2 minutes.
