Pret a Manger

1. Great find right across from the Cardiff Bute train station. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is made fresh daily and they have many options for those with dietary restrictions. The coffee is excellent (although I am not a true coffee connoisseur). Highly recommend this establishment and plan on visiting Pret multiple times during our stay here.

2. This place is lacking atmosphere!! Felt like I was in burger king with the way orders are being shouted out , it’s like 7am with three customers no need to shout at the top of your lungs young man !! Coffee is “OKAY” disappointed that they don’t use cups for inside service? What happened to cutting waste down 🤔 .. however it’s very clean establishment but again lacking atmosphere, over the top shouting and no cups ?? I like my coffee in a cup and not a paper cup.

3. What can I say? The staff here are absolutely brilliant. Even though they are VERY busy (both days I visited) they were polite, happy and enthusiastic with every single person they interacted with! The coffee – as usual was spot on (I would not expect any less from a Pret)
   For me the customer service is what’s makes this Pret stand out from the other coffee shops in the area and the warm welcome even when they are clearly slammed!

   Thank you to all staff for making my morning easier even though yours was manic!

4. Would give zero stars if I could. Went in for a coffee on 17 August 2024. Understandable busy as it was 9am. I asked for an iced coffee but in a paper cup (since paper cups are insulated and keep the coffee colder for longer). The kind lady at the till asked the barista and the barista (also looked like the manager) turned her head and rudely just said “no!”. I was taken back. Any other Pret I’ve been to has never had an issue with this simple request. I just looked at the girl behind the till, shocked at the rudeness. She politely asked if I still wanted the coffee and looked like she was apologetic for how rude and unaccommodating the manager was. I feel sorry for the staff who have to work with that rude woman every day. Not at all in line with the usual exceptional service you get from a Pret.

5. Come here once a week. Service is very efficient, professional and friendly. The team always get my order right and seem to be calm and well organised. The Café is clean even during peak times.
