Came across this place by chance when passing through. It is an absolute gem of a place! Food was like Michelin star! Service fantastic and friendly and knew the food when asking anything about it. First time I have ever done a food review and only because it was so deserving of a good review.
I visited the Sandbanks Brasserie for the first time yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. It’s just a pity it was a miserable wet day as the Brasserie is set in a lovely location . On entering the Brasserie we were met with a lovely display of homemade pastries. Lunch was amazing, the food was delicious and well presented. There was a good selection of wines plus recommendations to go with some of the dishes. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back, hopefully on a sunny day.
Delicious Sunday dinner. We visited today and were quickly seated. It was fairly quiet when we first arrived with only one other set of diners. Service was very good and prompt.
For a starter I had the Jamie’s Fried Chicken (JFC). Absolutely beautiful: moist chicken in a chunky crispy batter and a very tasty curry type mayo for dipping.
We both had the beef Sunday roast and I was genuinely surprised by the size when it arrived. Everything on the plate was stunning and incredibly well seasoned. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted mash that tasted so good and my girlfriend’s favourite was the carrot. Both (amongst everything else) were just elevated beyond the norm.
My girlfriend had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert and I was lucky enough to get a bite. Again, elevated beyond the typical. It was absolutely stunning.
Another point is that while you can pay by card, they can’t take tips by card which I felt bad about given how excellent the service was. If you’re likely to leave a gratuity, suggest you bring some cash.
Minor criticism that there was no beer on draft but all in all the food, atmosphere and service were all incredible. Look forward to returning to try the pork duo 🤤
I don’t normally write reviews but I felt that it was appropriate and much deserved this time. We had a fantastic experience last Sunday afternoon. The food was of the highest quality, taste and presentation. 3 courses eaten, enjoyed and now written about. Well done to Jamie and his team.
I’d also like to thank the front of house staff who were polite and engaging, and either knew the answer to our questions or got the answer very quickly.
5 stars from us. Just brilliant to have an experience like that in Broughty Ferry.
Had a lovely meal. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. The Menu was comprehensive with plenty of choices to meet all pallets. We were bought bread with butter. We had the fried chicken snack. I had the potatoes with smoked cod roe followed by the pork with sausage. My friend had the risotto then the cod. We both were too full to eat sweet. Will definitely be back.
