  1. Went for lunch and our group ordered a variety of the pasta dishes as well as the trio of bread, and some olives. It ranged from quite good to excellent.

It had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were lovely. The highlight of my visit was when an Italian member of staff (possibly manager?) came to tell us about the specials of the day and was incredibly enthusiastic about the fresh clams they had managed to acquire that morning.

  2. Visiting Glasgow for the weekend with a friend, we came across Santa Lucia. A very nice Italian place to see delicious pasta. We hadn’t booked a table and the staff managed to book us in. Staff were friendly and always checked how we were doing. For starters we had fried seafood, arancini (rice ball) and lamb croquettes and for main we had lasagna and pasta Napoli. Unfortunately, we were so stuffed we didn’t make it to the dessert but they had a good selection on the menu.

  3. A welcome addition to the West End. Santa Lucia Pasta takes the humble, homely, comforting pasta dish to new levels.

It’s the small touches really make this place feel special. Beautiful tableware and decor. A classy mezzanine level and professional, competent staff. It’s refined but still provides a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Having been on several occasions the menu is robust in quality and portions. The starters are unusually for me the star of the show. Arancini and Lasagna Fritta are delightful. The mains are rich and decadent. For the price you pay its outstanding value.

From the Deli to the Merchant City and now Byres Road Santa Lucia is setting the bar for Italian dining.

  4. We visited Santa Lucia for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner last Friday. The food was 10/10, our bruschetta to start and pasta mains were delicious, along with our affogato. The restaurant is gorgeous inside and our waiters were friendly, however the whole meal was very slow which was disappointing. It took a while for someone to come over to take our drink order, then our food order. After our starters arrived, it took a full hour for our mains to come. When we were paying the bill we weren’t asked how everything was so I didn’t have the opportunity to flag this. With the meal being celebratory I didn’t want to cause a fuss over the prolonged wait time, however I think this should be noted.

  5. I’ve eaten in Italy many times and the food here is probably the best I’ve eaten outside Bologna/Naples.

To begin with, the services was really good and the restaurant was clean and cosy.

My wife’s arincini starter was very well made and reminded me of the ones in Vomero.

I had a seafood platter that was extremely generous in portion and my garlic bread side was full of flavour.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I am very eager to return in the future.
