1. One of our favourite places to eat and it’s just down the road from where live! Wonderful food, a lovely intimate venue and Dan and his team provide first class service. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or a Sunday roast everything is superb.

2. Both dishes were nice enough; the trifle had little taste of elderberry and plenty of cream as a topping, and the flatbread with lamb was tasty, but I was also a little disappointed by the general concept of it: great fries, no salad. The cheese from the shop is simply outstanding; it’s a fantastic butcher shop.

3. I had the steak and egg, which was delicious, and my friend had the chicken BLT, which she enjoyed. The coffee was good quality. Staff were friendly. I will definitely be back.

4. A cosy bistro ideal for couples and families, the menu is filled with locally sourced quality ingredients. We had the pork scratchings as a snack, which were the biggest I’ve ever seen – only for those with strong teeth! For starters we shared the squid, then the carnitas tacos. I recommend a steak as a main. We had a rump steak to share as it’s slightly bigger at 10oz. Definitely upgrade the fries to their fantastic triple cooked chips! The pork belly was also tasty.

5. Came for a mixed meat Sunday roast and definitely was not disappointed!! All of it was cooked to perfection and the iced latte with oat milk was just as delicious. You can also ask for extra vegetables and gravy if wanted. Generous portion and very filling! It was 2 courses for £28 which is great value. I had apricot and almond bakewell tart which also tasted insane (I wasn’t keen on the drizzle of sauce on the plate but everything else was perfect). Staff were lovely and helpful. Pay to park available nearby. Need to book in advance on a weekend as they fill up quickly. Have recommended to others already and will definitely be back!
